Reasons Why Being Kind to Others Really Matters

In a time when our world is full of crazy and chaos, being kind to someone can help provide a little calm. Being kind to others will make them feel good, help to improve your mood, and also help those around you that witness it! This little fact has also been proven!  According to Psychology Today, “Numerous studies have shown that receiving, giving, or even witnessing acts of kindness increases immunity and the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that regulates mood in the brain.”

This Friday is your opportunity to pass along kindness to others and by doing so, boosting your mental health.  This Friday and every February 17th is Random Acts of Kindness Day!  This day is especially important to me because it is also my closest friend son’s 17th birthday in Heaven.  This day falls on his birthday every year!  That is so amazing because Landon loved Jesus so much and was known for his friendly smile and kindness.  He wrote a letter his mom has on her refrigerator with the words, “You matter.  Rise up.  Stand tall.  Be courageous.  Be inspiring.  Be kind.”  He loved inspiring others to be kind to each other.  He got it!  He knew the world needed more love and more of Jesus.  He was such a special 12 year old and this Friday we will celebrate his 17th birthday, on the 17th, by being kind to others, as he would have.  Will you join me, his mom and other’s that loved him by wearing green on this special day while spreading kindness to others?
